The chief problem with the democratic party was "messaging". Second "Listening" 3rd relying too much on the urban vote. There was basically NO contact nor connection with rural voters. That is the republican's oasis. The major annoyances of voters urban and rural- phone calls be it live or auto. they did not like it when they occurred at dinner time. They disregard junk mail, despite the energy and dedication of volunteers who hand wrote them. New ways, new methods, and reaching out to the wide areas of this state is needed. we all need to talk about this.

YES!!! Voters, especially the more active voters, are flooded with way too many texts, calls, and emails, each asking for money. Many promised 5x matching but were scams, not using ActBlue. This had two effects: (1) It syphoned off needed funds and (2) caused many people to simply ignore all requests.

Thank you for breaking things down. This is incredibly helpful for those of us who want to help but aren't sure how things are/should be structured.

I contributed monthly to Blue Horizon for two important gaps it helped fill. (1) Unlike most Dem organizations, they focused on rural precincts. (2) And they actually helped candidates run for office. Too often new candidates enter with no help and with a rookie campaign team that learns as they go, creating a website and social media presence, developing messaging, creating campaign materials (signs, door-drops, t-shirts, etc) -- all with no idea of how to get started.

State and county parties could play a huge role in streamlining that whole process, so I loved the mention of investing in infrastructure. And, I'm so glad we now have the opportunity to get new leadership.

Love these points. Listening to the individual regions is so key. I haven't felt like there is enough effort to connect the local issues to the party platform.

Excellent. Thank you. I am hopeful that this information can be shared and coordinated with the new chair of the Texas Democratic Party. I stand ready to help.
