Dude, what a fabulous post! This Texan has LONG had enough and I'm ready to vote all these MFers out in numbers too big to question, like Hungary. Let's fucking go, y'all!
The DNC has totally lost my trust. And this post defines EXACTLY why. Thank you Nancy. And the writing is in the wall. WE ARE ON OUR OWN! Our only chance is to find candidates who shout out the messages, forcefully, that say we are done with the status quo. We are done with corporate greed. We are done with politician’s who choose corporate interests over the public. We are done with politician’s who believe they deserve more healthcare, more opportunities, more safety nets than the average American.
Right you are Nancy! However, Democrats “not only” allowed Republicans to “control” the narrative they also allowed them to “define” the narrative!
Forget the cliché “hindsight is 20/20!” if Biden was a defective candidate Harris should have started her campaign at the “get go!”
The Republicans had a “flawed” campaign that should have “failed” since they had a “flawed” candidate! Yes the points you made were valid however Democrats “Cardinal Sin” was failing to take President Obama’s “queue” before he left Office. (I make the constant reference of “Mr Obama” as “President Obama” how he conducted himself in Office was “Presidential” and to this day remains “Presidential.)
Before leaving Office President Obama warned the country about; “a deadly, novel airborne virus.” Democrats failed to realise the President was talking about a “pending National Security Threat!”
“Look!” the reason the President dispatched a “Rapid Response Team” to West Africa with the Ebola Outbreak, because he knew Ebola was “contagious enough” and “deadly enough” to be considered a “Biological National Security Threat” worthy of “containment” if possible.
President Obama “briefed” the country in advance, as well as, the “in coming Trump Administration” in advance about this “threat” since he had credible “medical intelligence” he trusted.
Before leaving Office,President Obama “beefed up” the CDC budget that Trump later “redirected” for “what?” he said for his “boarder wall” but we saw no “evidence” that any “funds” went to Trump’s “boarder wall.”
As a final “note” we will never know if COVID-19 could have been “contained” in a “similar manner” as Ebola. But we do know Trump and the Trump Administration during his first term failed to contain COVID-19 though it is true Trump did bring the COVID-19 vaccine into existence, but it took the Biden Administration to distribute the vaccine and end the National Security Threat. It is however “gratifying” the Democratic Party is now on “offence” on their Midterm “bid” to reign in this “Trump Regime.”
They came in at the very end, just so they could take credit. It might have been 20K. Yup, we have been knocking on doors for him since June! And we keep knocking for him! He is amazing!
Wonderful statement Nancy! Talarico has a beautiful platform that resonates with MANY Texans. And I’m all for Gina Jinojosa for governor but I’d like to see more from her campaign than Abbott bashing. Not saying I don’t agree, but she’s got to stand for more than just Abbott bashing to WIN! Your influence there is appreciated!
Great post! And, we also have seen DNC slink away from Mamdomi in NYC…and I’m sure they’re quiet about Maine now, and watch out, because Michigan is about to nominate Abdul Al Sayed for senate!!!
Texas Democrats are operating as a coordinated team. This is what happens when your back is to the wall. In regard to Amy's comment below, I would like to share with y'all a great article I just read about the Hungarian elections. I know zilch about foreign affairs and usually avoid it, because as a native Texan, I have a hard time focusing my mind on anything that isn't Texas. LOL!
Anyway, I have been reading about Hungary. I was struck by how Magyar's outreach and organization in rural areas reminded me of Beto. The article below has a lot of overlap with what we can and are doing here in Texas. I wish I was more physically capable of helping. I'm trying to do my small part here in a very old and pretty darn Red precinct in the Metroplex. God speed to all of you who are working your butts off - shout out to Liza!
This is spot on. I would also say you missed one thing and that is health care, we should have come in hard on this one. Health insurance companies are rationing care we need medicare for all or to allow businesses to offer medicare (a public option). They do this through vertical integration and literally starving doctors out through minimal reimbursements. My heart sunk where in a town hall a man stood up and asked Harris a question that involved he had good insurance but it is taking months to see a doctor...her answer, subsidizing insurance payments...it was like she didn't listen to his question but was going through for prepared response to the wrong issue....

Are you Texan?
I don’t know if Susan is, but I am. And I agree.

Nancy, this is ALL true! Great read. Thanks for telling it like it really is!

100%, Nancy! And not just those national issues—Texas-based issues have to be front and center by candidates and supporters.
This is so good!!

Great read, like always! I hope Texas comes out to vote in the General. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Well said! At this point we need the DNC to just get out of the way. Also do not understand why there is even a question about Scudder’s leadership.
In many ways these corporate, establishment, or whatever you want to call these people are worse than MAGA.
