Nov 10th - Welcome to Grudge Season & Messaging
Let the Primary Season BEGIN!
Welcome to the Grudge Season
When I was a regular citizen and not involved in politics, this was just known as primary campaign season. But now I am involved in politics, this is Season 3 of the Grudge Season. If you do not support a person’s candidate, they hold a grudge against you that comes out in vicious ways when you don’t expect it. Last week, someone called me and said that if we didn’t support their candidate and their candidate didn’t win, they would never vote Democrat again, ever! SIGH!
I hate Grudge Season, and one would say, I have a grudge against Grudge Season. It’s stupid and reason #567 of why Democrats lose. Because of this, Mothers Against Greg Abbott and Mothers for Democracy are not endorsing during the primary season unless a candidate is unopposed, with the exception of James Talarico, because he shows up for Texans.
Throw everything at the wall and see what sticks
We have known for a while now that the Republican Strategy is to throw a bunch of things at the wall and see what sticks and makes people angriest. They are not into persuasion politics. They are into Hate Politics. Here are some trends we are seeing this past week, and so far, not much is sticking:
Attacks on blue city governments. Right now, Republicans are trying to paint Democrats as people who let criminals out of jail and waste your tax dollars. And the attacks are relentless. No thanks to some donors who have large followings on Twitter, who love their 15 mins of fame!
Blame Women for everything! The NY Times article this week, “Did Women Ruin the Workplace?” Why, in the year 2025, is a white, fat, bald man blaming women? Oh, never mind, we know…. OVER IT! Women are tired of being blamed. We are done!
Islamophobia - So, break out the playbook in 2016, they blamed the Mexicans, 2020, they blamed the Asians for Covid, in 2022, Greg Abbott blamed “Open Borders” and Immigrants, 2024, they blamed the trans students and Immigrants. So who are they going to blame in 2026? Well, Mamdani won last week, and the attacks on Muslims have doubled on social media in the last week. We have to push back against this type of racism.
SNAP Blame - Republicans are currently trying to blame the Democrats and “women” for the SNAP situation. There’s the asshole from NewsMax, Todd Starnes, because of eyebrows and nails (see blame women above). Which just proves that these people hang out with billionaires so much that they can’t relate to the little people anymore, you know, the ones that worry about eating and paying their rent.
We need to educate people about the difference between Socialism and Democratic Socialism
Socialism - Socialism says, “Let’s scrap capitalism.”
Ownership: The State owns most Industries, energy, healthcare, and transportation, so everyone has equal access. Private Property: Limited
Democracy: Optional
Market System: Mostly eliminated
Focus: Economic Equality
Slogan: “The state runs everything”
Sample countries: Soviet Union, China, Cuba, Vietnam, Laos, North Korea
Democratic Socialism - Democratic socialism says: “Let’s fix capitalism so it works for everyone.”
Ownership: Mix of public and private ownership
Democracy: Essential. It blends free elections and civil liberties (like in a democracy) with policies that make capitalism humane—universal healthcare, affordable education, fair wages.
Market System: Reformed and regulated
Focus: Balancing equality with freedom. Equality of opportunity and a safety net for all.
Slogan: “We all get a fair shot without billionaires buying the system.”
Sample countries: Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Canada, Germany, Finland, and France (All the happiest countries in the world)
Texas Billionaire Messaging this week:
Theme: Texas isn’t being governed, it’s being purchased.
While working families struggle with groceries, rent, property taxes and healthcare, billionaires and corporate PACs are writing six- and seven-figure checks to politicians like Greg Abbott, Dan Patrick, and Ken Paxton, who then write the laws that protect those same donors.

FOLLOW THE MONEY
Greg Abbott, Dan Patrick, and Ken Paxton aren’t public servants—they’re investment portfolios with cowboy hats.
One billionaire writes a $1M check, and suddenly your public school becomes a private voucher experiment.
Every time a Texas politician says “freedom,” check who’s signing their campaign checks.
Example:
Ever wonder why Texas politicians keep gutting public schools and healthcare? Because they don’t answer to you. They answer to the millionaires who fund them. #BoughtAndPaidFor #MothersReportCard
TEXAS SHOULDN’T BE FOR SALE
Ordinary Texans can’t compete with $1,000,000 donations. But we can vote.
Billionaires fund the campaigns, but Texans fund the consequences—underfunded schools, underpaid teachers, and overpriced everything.
Our democracy should be one person, one vote—not one check, one law.
Example:
Texas billionaires are spending millions to buy the laws that make them richer.
It’s time we remind them: the real power is still with the people.

WHO OWNS WHO?
Create a post series using the uploaded graphics at bottom.
Visual Idea: “Who Owns Who in the Texas GOP?”
Greg Abbott — Funded by Jeff Yass ($12M)
Dan Patrick — Funded by Texans United for Conservative Majority PAC
Ken Paxton — Funded by H. Gary Heavin ($1M)
Sid Miller — Funded by a few big donors, one billionaire away from a pyramid scheme
Dawn Buckingham — Funded by oil, pipe, and real estate interests
Example:
Meet the real bosses of Texas politics 👇
Spoiler: it’s not you, me, or any voter.

WHAT TEXANS GET IN RETURN
Abbott’s donors make money off deregulation and private schools.
Dan Patrick’s donors push voucher schemes and anti-worker laws.
Paxton’s donors bankroll lawsuits instead of fixing problems.
Dawn Buckingham’s donors profit off public land.
Sid Miller’s donors profit off factory farms and deregulated agriculture.
Example:
Billionaires donate millions.
Texans get higher electric bills, fewer teachers, and dirtier air.
Seems fair—if you’re a billionaire.
