π¨ CALL TO ACTION: Stop Vouchers in Texas! π¨
The Texas House is voting on HB3/SB2βthe Voucher Billβthis Wednesday, April 16th. This is it, yβall. We need you to respond and write to your legislator TODAY! Before Wednesday's vote!
Vouchers defund our public schools and leave most Texas kids behind. We need YOU to take action. Hereβs a step-by-step process for you to follow.
Step 1
β
Call or email your Texas House Rep and tell them to VOTE NO on HB3/SB2:

This is a sample letter:
Dear Representative [Name],
As your constituent, I urge you to vote NO on HB3/SB2, the voucher bill.
Vouchers divert public tax dollars away from our already underfunded public schools and send them to unaccountable private institutions. They do not improve educational outcomes, especially for the students who need the most support.
Over 90% of Texas families rely on public schools. These schools are the heart of our communitiesβespecially in rural areas where private options simply donβt exist. Vouchers would drain resources, deepen inequities, and leave students with disabilities, English language learners, and low-income children behind.
Texans value strong neighborhood schools. We want fully funded classrooms, fair teacher pay, and safe, welcoming environments where every child has the opportunity to succeed. HB3/SB2 does the oppositeβitβs a political scheme, not a real solution.
Iβm asking you to stand with Texas families, students, and educators by voting NO on HB3/SB2.
We will be watching. And we will remember who stood up for public education and voted for their constituents and not out of state billionaires.
Sincerely,
[Your Full Name]

BACK in the USA
When Delacrox painted Liberty Leading the people, he reminded the world Revolutions arenβt tidy - and neither is progress. True freedom is always a fight. It strides forward not alone but with the people. We must keep on with the fight!
I had a trip planned since before the election to go to Europe. Around the time I was getting ready to leave, the Trump administration was checking phones and social media accounts of people coming back into the country. I decided to lay low and go dark. Only the local Texas airport gave me a hard time as I was leaving. And Europe was so refreshing after living in the Gulf of Fascism. LOL! I walked around speaking a little bit of Spanish, German, French, English and it was so lovely. Itβs hard not to walk around Paris and think of Lady Liberty. She is everywhere.
