The complete blow-up of all social media set us back a bit in the last week. We had to pivot and come up with new strategies for creating a community outside of social media.

We started the year by rolling out new training programs. We introduced the Blue Neighbor Network and Texas Lege Advocacy Training. Here are links to both:

The 89th Texas Legislature Opening Day

The Texas Lege opened up January 14th and we were on the Texas Senate floor watching some of our favorite Senators take their oath of office. We also distributed the special pin we made for those in elected office as well as information about our Mothers Report Card for the 89th Texas Legislature. Here’s some pictures from Opening Day of the legislature.

The Reel Resistance

On January 20th we hosted and are still hosting the Reel Resistance Film Showcase, where we have over 20 films from independent filmmakers about the issues we care about the most. You can still buy a ticket and watch a great selection of short stories, ads, and featured films.
