Dear Friends,
I know many of us are feeling the weight of this moment. The Harris loss is difficult to bear—it feels like a setback, not just for our hopes but for the progress we all believe in. I want to reach out today to remind each of you that while our path forward may feel challenging, it is at this very moment that our dedication to democracy matters most.
This loss is heavy, and it’s okay to feel its impact. We need to give ourselves and each other the grace to process it. But after we take this moment to breathe and mourn, we must also come together, stronger and more united than ever. This is not the end of our journey. It’s a call to action—a reminder of how much our voices and our unity are needed.
I invite you to join us in Mothers for Democracy. We are building something more than an organization; we’re building a community, a force for change that listens, learns, and moves together. When we stand as one, we’re not only supporting each other—we’re showing up for every woman, every family, and every vulnerable member of our communities.
Our mission is simple but profound: to protect democracy by empowering each of us to have a voice to fight for the rights that keep our communities strong and our families safe. Together, we can become a source of hope and resilience.
So, let’s come together. Let’s organize, support, and amplify each other. Our strength lies in our shared commitment and the knowledge that real change happens when we lift each other up. We are planning on expanding our clubs across the United States and bringing all of us together as much as we can in this fight.
I believe in us and what we can accomplish together. Let’s take this moment to regroup, support one another, and then rise up to create the future we want to see.
In solidarity and strength,
Nancy Thompson
