Absolutely! 'Who the fuck does he think he is, my Dad?'

Hell, even my Dad isn't the boss of me. That role expired 40 years ago (and I've had to remind him of that a few times).

Truth! I’ve experienced something similar as the President of our local school board. Your words are validating and empowering - thank you!

I love your leadership and not leadership points. So many think leadership is "ruling with an iron fist" at the top gradually lessening to showing by doing and expecting them to follow.

What a whiney 👶. Honestly, I'm glad this person didn't win his race. Although he was well vetted by your team - you always do such great work - we don't need people like this in our politics. What this tells me is his conviction was water thin and his motivation had no heart. Politicians and those who aspire to be need to stop drooling over power and influence and get back to being for the people, especially in an area like the RGV. Thank you Nancy for all you do and thank you for having a heart for the people.

So well said! I appreciate your not only taking a stand but illuminating the underlying issues with assumptions being made by the author of the email in the first place. Sometimes, women have become so desensitized to both the micro and macro aggressions that we fail to respond to them. This was definitely a “teachable moment” if he’s listening and open to it. But it was also a great reminder that as women we don’t have to take this s___t anymore ( not that we should have ever had to). Thanks!
